What you will learn

MATTHEW SUTCLIFFE – CUTTING SHORT HAIR

Duration: 1 Day

Course Description:

Do you want to feel more confident with cutting shorter shapes? Or to practice cutting short hair with guidance? This is the course for you. Matthew is an expert in short hair; from short shags to pixies and adapting to what your clients are currently asking for. You will learn texturizing techniques, including when and why to use them. How to utilise your clippers, including scissor over comb, personalisation techniques and distribution of weight. Matthew will also cover utilising your tools and understanding the shapes you want to make is crucial to short hair. Once you understand these skills you can apply them to any client.

Matthew’s teaching style is grounded in supporting you in the area you are looking at developing. You can expect coaching circles and a space where you can freely ask questions. You will see demonstrations and then have the chance to put in practice using techniques that work on a variation of hair lengths. Plus, expect from styling tips along that way.

During this course you will also explore what kind of stylist are you. Do you want to create precision or soft styles? What work are you profiling yourself with? You will leave with some seeds planted on not just how to do the hair you want but how to grow your column with the clients you want. You will also have the chance to make social content with guidance.

This course isn’t driven by learning set haircuts, it is about understanding the key framework and techniques you can apply several different ways. Matthew can also tailor the course to areas you are wishing to feel more confident in.
