Course description:

From concept to completion.

This course will take you on a journey through the “how’s” and “why’s” of how to navigate the perfect photographic image, working alongside award winning Hairdressers and photographer.

Creating the perfect image, whether to use for Awards, competitions, social, web design, marketing, or promotional assets. How to source the right model, and why this is important. Planning looks and creating story boards for hair, make-up, and clothes styling.

This course has been designed to build your confidence and knowledge in creating the perfect Image.

Desmond Murray is an Award-Winning hairdresser and photographer. Throughout his career, Desmond has constantly pushed himself to achieve new heights and as a result is now being recognized for his dedication, passion and creative work in both hairdressing and photography. Already housed securely in British Hairdressing Awards ‘Hall of Fame’ in recognition of his award-winning hair artistry, Desmond followed this by receiving an international award from the A.I.P.P. Avant Garde Collection of the Year.

Already housed securely in British Hairdressing Awards ‘Hall of Fame’ in recognition of his award-winning hair artistry, 2009 found Desmond accepting an additional award from the British Hairdressing Awards citing him Men’s Hairdresser of the Year. This was followed by an international award from the A.I.P.P. which named Desmond Murrays Avant Garde Collection of the Year’. This being an accolade not only for his hairdressing skills but his dexterity as an award-winning photographer.

Jason Hall is the owner of Jason Hall Hairdressing Salon and JH Creative Space, a dynamic hub for photography, mixed media, and education, both located in Edinburgh, Scotland.

With a diverse and accomplished career in hairdressing, Jason has earned numerous accolades, including the AIPP Best Men's Collection and an impressive eight-time Finalist of the British Hairdressing Award for Scottish Hairdresser of The Year (2017–2024) and winner in 2019. He has also been shortlisted three times for Men's Hairdresser of the Year (2016, 2017, 2020).

For the past 15 years, Jason has been a key figure in the global fashion circuit, working backstage at New York, Milan, London, and Paris Fashion Weeks. He has collaborated with industry legends such as Eugene Souleiman, Guido, and Anthony Turner, contributing to runway shows for top fashion houses like Dior, Versace, and Yohji Yamamoto.

Beyond the runway, Jason has played a pivotal role in high-profile advertising campaigns for brands including Dior, Stone Island, Adidas Spezial, and Uniqlo. His expertise, creativity, and dedication continue to inspire both newcomers to the industry and those shaping their own careers.

His educational studio is within his award-winning Salon is in the heart of Glasgow merchant’s city.

Alan divides his time between educating worldwide and working in the salon with his team and clients.

Capturing his creative inspiration on film is something he loves to do, whether it's showcasing looks that are current and contemporary, or collections which are exaggerated and bold.

International Educator for L'Oréal Professionnel & Kérastase since 1993, sharing his passion and expertise for Hair Presenting Shows and Seminars all over Europe, India, Thailand, Bali, Singapore, South Korea.

Collaborating with Fashion Designers, Pam Hogg , Louise Gray , Alexander McQueen. Twice winner of the Scottish Hairdresser of the Year.  Twice winner of the L'Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy.
