Course Description:
Total Texture is an online introductory course that explains the science behind why hair texture varies and how it influences different hairdressing skill sets. Led by Charlotte Mensah, Total Texture will give you the foundation knowledge to understand all textures, whether coily, curly, wavy or straight.
“If you want to be a great hairdresser it is so important to know how to work with every hair type so that anyone who walks through your door can be welcomed. Even if it is a basic service you are able to do it with confidence.” – Charlotte Mensah
Every client has a unique fingerprint of shape, diameter, density and porosity; this course will help unlock the understanding of how these elements intertwine. Then at the end of the module an expert panel discusses how texture influences skill sets. This covers care with Nicole Iroh (Headmasters Artistic Ambassador), styling with Claire Martin (Master Stylist Gro London), cutting with Dexter Dapper Johnson (Toni & Guy International Artistic Director), colouring with Paul Dennison (Technical Director Ken Picton Salon), wigs and weaves with Lisa Farrall (Found Wig London) and perm and relaxers with Charlotte herself.
Total Texture is the perfect starting place for all newcomers to the industry, stylists looking to expand their skill set or pre-training before coming to learn with us hands-on at one of the L'Oréal Academies across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
